HIT THE DECK

Taking the observation deck concept to another – higher – level, the alfresco Sky Deck sits atop 52-storey Roppongi Hills Mori Tower

At 238 metres above ground, built around the rim of a rooftop heliport, Roppongi Hills’ Sky Deck is the highest open-air facility in Japan and enables a whopping, windy, unobstructed view of the Tokyo skyline. Below deck, for those with vertigo, is the 52nd-floor Tokyo City View, an indoor observation deck – but visitors should brave the outdoors; the wooden deck is safely positioned several metres back from the edge. Admission for the whole facility: US$14. www.roppongihills.com/tcv
